In accordance with the executive order issued Sunday, March 22 by Governor Greg Abbott, and in order to protect the health of our patients and staff, all Dentistry For Children locations will be closed through April 21, 2020.

In his press conference on Sunday, Governor Abbott issued an executive order restricting healthcare professionals and facilities. The Texas Dental Association has confirmed with Governor Abbott that the executive order applies to dentists. As it pertains to dentistry, Governor Abbott’s order requires dentists to delay until midnight April 21, 2020,… “all surgeries and procedures that are not immediately medically necessary to correct a serious medical condition of, or to preserve the life of, a patient who without immediate performance of the surgery or procedure would be at risk for serious adverse medical consequences or death, as determined by the patient’s physician;”

Our top priority is the health and well-being of our patients, families, staff and community and we want to do our part to keep everyone safe and limit the spread of the COVID-19.

During this closure, there will be a dentist on call in the event of an emergency. If your child requires emergency dental care, and is an established patient at Dentistry for Children, please call our office as you normally would and our 24-hour answering service will have a member of our team return your call.

The following are considered dental emergencies:

· a broken tooth with nerve exposure

· spontaneous tooth pain

· swelling of the face

· possible infection or abscess

We appreciate your patience, understanding and support during this time.
